A Road Map for Muskoka Art Lovers

How can art lovers find and connect with Muskoka’s vibrant art community all year long? That was the question posed by local artist Bonnie Bews. The answer inspired the creation of ARTrail Muskoka Purple Banner, a printed guide offering easy access to a broad selection of artist studios and artist-run galleries.

“Visitors will find a map inside leading to 54 Muskoka studios and galleries.”

In the 2020 ARTrail Muskoka brochure, visitors will find a map and detailed, comprehensive information leading to 54 participating studios and galleries.  Choose to tour by region, by artist, or by medium.

Art lovers will discover a wonderful variety of artistic expression, from painting, stained glass, pottery, musical instruments, and fibre arts, to photography, home décor, furniture, sculpture, jewellery, woodwork and wood carving.

The Purple Banner flying outside an artist’s studio or gallery is the sign they are open.  “When it’s out, we’re open!”

“When it’s out, we’re open!”

With the present restrictions on businesses being open to the public, studios and artist-run galleries will open later than usual in Spring 2020. To keep up-to-date on plans for openings, check the ARTrail Muskoka Facebook and Instagram accounts. Also, it is recommended that visitors call ahead before planning their tour, as each artist operates independent days and hours.

Once COVID-19’s social isolation passes, ARTrail Muskoka brochures will be available throughout the region at Tourism Offices, resorts, grocery stores, other retail locations, LCBOs, Chambers of Commerce and more.

The current brochure is available now at www.ARTrailMuskoka.ca.
